INDIRECT HEATED PYROLYSIS ROTARY KILN TECHNOLOGY

  • Waste not in contact with flame or combustion gases
  • Soil structure remains intact post treatment (maximum re-use potential)
  • Risk of combustion eliminated due to desorptionchamber and kiln being airtight
  • No (or minimal) risk of dioxin formation due  to oxygen-free environment 
  • Extremely high energy efficiency - treated materials provide energy for operating the plant
  • Ability to treat very high organic contaminant loads 

CONTAMINANT TREATMENT CAPABILITY

  • Able to treat volatile metals (mercury)
  • Able to treat all matrices - solid, soil, liquid (soils and other Prescribed Industrial Wastes)
  • Able to treat very high moisture contents at full capacity (40% plus)

GAS CLEANING SYSTEM

  • Only contaminant gases generated require treatment
  • Gas stream held above dew point resulting in higher absorption efficiency and less spent carbon

 

 

RENEX HAS PARTNERED WITH TECHTRADE INTERNATIONAL GmbH FOR THE DESIGN, SUPPLY AND FURTHER DEVELOPMENTOF THE PYROLYSIS ROTARY KILN TECHNOLOGY. 

 

The Dandenong South facility is based on a reference facility that has been successfully operating in Herne, Germany since 1992.

To achieve world’s best practice, RENEX will establish a permanent facility that will deliver significant benefits over mobile facilities including:

  • A plant capacity of 70,000 tonnes per annum
  • No need for mobilisation and demobilisation - reduced time and cost impact
  • EPA Works Approval already received
  • Ability to receive and treat a broader range of contaminated wastes
  • Planning approval for treatment facility already received from council
  • Ability to provide the required buffer distances to sensitive receptors
  • Plant commissioned once only with an on-going preventative maintenance program
  • Ability to optimise treatment conditions
  • RENEX’s facility is fully enclosed within a negative pressure environment to ensure all emissions from the operations are contained, controlled and managed to the ‘maximum extent achievable’.
