RENEX HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED TO PURSUE THE DEVELOPMENT OF AUSTRALIA’S FIRST PERMANENTLY LOCATED INTEGRATED WASTE TREATMENT AND RESOURCE RECOVERY FACILITY. THE FACILITY WILL ACCEPT AND TREAT CONTAMINATED SOILS AND OTHER PIW’S WHICH WOULD OTHERWISE HAVE BEEN DESTINED FOR LANDFILL DISPOSAL.

RENEX has been issued with all necessary approvals to complete construction of the facility. These include a Works Approval from the Environment Protection Authority of Victoria (EPA), issued following an extensive review of RENEX’s Pyrolysis Rotary Kiln Technology, and a Planning Permit for the site in Dandenong South.

Stage 1 works commenced in September 2012 for the construction of an 11,000m2 fully enclosed building where all operations will occur. On 6th November 2013, RENEX received approval from the EPA to commence receiving and storing contaminated soils in preparation for treatment.

Stage 2 commenced in mid 2013 and involves the installation and commissioning of RENEX’s Pyrolysis Rotary Kiln Technology. On 3rd November 2014, RENEX received approval from the EPA to commence its 'Proof of Performance' program. Once completed (early 2015), the facility will be fully operational.
